You all know how much I love to decorate my house for the holidays. Growing up in an Irish family, St. Patrick’s Day is a big holiday for us. I wanted to add some new, fun decorations this year for one of my mantles and thought Penny lucky letters was an easy one to try. I love the way they turned out and they are something I can put up year after year.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Large letters – LUCKY
  • Copper spray paint
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue gun sticks
  • Pennies (around 4-5 dollars depending on the size of your letters)

Start by choosing the word you’d like to do. You can do Irish, Lucky, Shamrock etc. I chose Lucky.

Head outside and lay some newspaper or trash bags down below your letters. Evenly spray the paint covering the entire surface of the letters.

While the letters are drying, plug the glue gun in to warm up.

Once the letters are dry, start gluing the pennies to the letters. Once they are covered, they are ready to be displayed.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
