A lot of people email me and ask about my skin care regimen. I try to keep things simple and natural and use scrubs, olive oil, coconut oil, MPH Sea Buckthorn Balm and MPH Lavender Hand Aid. I thought I would share one of the salt scrubs that I make. I love salt scrubs because they contain numerous minerals that can help enhance the skin. The magnesium in Epsom salts reduce inflammation, while sulfates flush out toxins. Salt has antiseptic properties, and when applied to the skin it can help kill bacteria and reduce inflammation along with any itching and pain. I use this scrub 2-3 times a week and always finish with a nice application of MPH Sea Buckthorn Balm. It keeps my skin nourished, hydrated and healthy.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Glass container that seals (I upcycled an old MPH candle jar)
  • 2 cups Epsom salt
  • 1 cup coarse sea salt
  • ½ cup dried lavender
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp almond oil
  • 15 drops lavender oil

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Be sure that all the salt is covered in the oil.

Spoon the scrub into a sealable glass container and your scrub is ready to use.

I like to use my scrub at the end of the shower, so my skin is exfoliated and nourished with the oil when I am done. Happy scrubbing!
