Many of you know that 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Growing up my dad made it into a huge celebration for the entire block, so I really look forward to it every year. I wanted to make a festive wreath for the holiday and thought to try a bandana wreath. I’m so happy with how it came out and can actually use this for Memorial and Veterans day as well! Here’s how I did it:
MATERIALS
- 1 small foam craft ring
- 20-24 bandanas- depends on how large your craft ring is
- Zip ties
- Cute decorative sign to hang in the middle- you can get at any store
Start by cutting the bandanas in half.
With one half, fold the two sides in making one clean strip.
Wrap the strip around the bandana and fasten tightly with a zip tie.
Continue doing this until the entire foam is covered. Trim the zip ties so you don’t have excess showing.
Next mix about a cup of mod podge with a little water and paint it onto the ends of the bandanas. This will help keep the bandanas straight when you hang the wreath.
Mod podge dry.
Once dry you can add stars to the wreath or a cute decorative sign to the middle like I did.
Hang and enjoy!
